Manchester United has announced the signing of striker Jack Maddox from their U23 academy, with the youngster set to make his debut in the first team on Saturday.
Maddox, who is aged just 19 years and 8 months, made his senior debut for the club last season in a friendly against Manchester City. He was also part of the Under-23 side that reached the semi-finals of the Premier League Cup.
The forward impressed during his time at Old Trafford, scoring four goals in six appearances for the U23s this season. His performances caught the attention of the first-team coaching staff, who have now decided to bring him up to speed.
"Jack is a talented young player with a bright future ahead of him," said manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. "We're delighted to have signed him and we're looking forward to seeing what he can do in our first team."
Maddox will join the likes of Mason Greenwood, Anthony Martial, and Marcus Rashford as members of the first team squad for the weekend's game against West Ham United. The striker will be hoping to impress his teammates and fans alike, as well as earning himself a regular spot in the starting line-up.
Overall, it seems like a good move for Maddox, who has already shown glimpses of his talent during his short time at United. With further development and opportunities, he could become a key player for the club in the future.
