In the latest round of Ligue 1, Lille and Nantes have come close to securing their places in Europe. Both teams had the opportunity to make it through to the last four but unfortunately for both sides, they couldn't quite do it.
Lille's chances were limited by the lack of goals scored. They only managed two goals in their first three matches and despite that, they still managed to secure a point against Nice. However, this wasn't enough to secure them a spot in the Europa League. In fact, they ended up finishing second behind Marseille.
On the other hand, Nantes had a better chance of making it through to the last eight of the competition. They managed to score three goals in their opening game against Toulouse and then continued to impress throughout the rest of the season. Despite that, they didn't manage to reach the quarter-finals. However, they did manage to secure a place in the semi-finals.
Both teams have been struggling recently, with Lille suffering from injuries while Nantes has struggled with form. However, both teams will be looking forward to their next matches and hoping that they can turn things around soon.
